Siem Reap and the Temples of Angkor

You can’t say Siem Reap without saying Ankor Wat in 1 sentence. This is THE only sight inCambodia that all, but than ALL foreigners go to. You can do the whole site in 1 full dayif you hire a tuk-tuk to drive you around. We bought the 3-day Angkor pass (40 USD) andrented bikes for 3 days to explore Siem Reap and Ankor at our own pace (TIP: There are 2roads going to Angkor from Siem Reap. Take the mainroad on your first day as the only ticketboot is along that road). Ankor Wat is actually only one of the many temples of the Angkor complex. I liked all althem! But my top favorites, which are usually also popular to other people are the Bayon Temple, with its immense stone faces and the Ta Prohm aka ‘Tomb Raider Temple’ where natureconquered the temples.

Has Siem Reap anything else to offer besides Angkor? Well, its very busy downtown consistsof streets full with foodstalls, restaurants, nightmarkets and heaps of bars. Enough placeswhere you can spend your time and money in the evenings but that’s pretty much it for SiemReap.

In Angkor there are plenty of temples, more than I could do in only 3 days. I’m sure thatthere are many temples off the beaten path and overlooked by many that are also amazing.Guess I’ll need to come back another time to do those!
