Why backpacking ’round the world?

Why go backpacking?

There comes a time in everyone’s life when you realise that you should or could do more with your life than just doing the same routine everyday over and over. Whether it be work or school. You feel that the place you live in is too small for you. You want to see the world, you want to experience new things, you want to go explore, you want to go on an adventure! And finally you are willing to take that step to go on new adventures, to travel the world to go back to basics and leave your home, your family and your friends behind and go on a trip around the world.

I’ve always wanted to go travel (who doesn’t), but I haven’t thought ’bout traveling around the world. Especially to take a year off work, off the life you’re used to, to travel around the world by yourself. Many people would be scared and you should be. You have no idea what’s out there and most important you have to survive it by yourself. But I’m willing to take that risk. In return I hope to visit the most amazing places and meet a lot of people along the way. Most people would say backpacking would be the best way to go. You travel on a budget, you abandon the luxury that you’re used to, you stay in crowded hostels and sleep in bunkbeds with a bunch of random people in a dormroom. And it’s been known that the backpackers community out there is one of the most friendly and open people who are always willing to help out a fellow backpacker when needed. You share the same hunger for adventure and need to explore the world. I haven’t set a fixed parting date yet, all I know is that I’ll be leaving around november 2011. Till that time I’ll be updating this blog with my preparations and thoughts and planning. If you have any suggestions or experiences you want to share, feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!
